Career, anyone? ;)

Hmm…got this from a friend’s email..just might be helpful to you, too…

A group of graduates, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor.

Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups – porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite – telling them to help themselves to the coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee, the professor said: “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the simple and cheap ones.

While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to the coffee. In most cases, it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups! Then you began eyeing each other’s cups.

Now, consider this:

Life is the coffee; the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life. and the type of cup we have does not define, nor change the quality of life we live.

Sometimes, by concentrating on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee God has provided us. Enjoy your coffee!

The happiest people don’t have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to God.

-i don’t know who wrote this, but i find it really nice. =)

hmm…makes me think about the choice i’m going to make. it doesn’t hurt naman cguro if i’ll have a nice cup and the best coffee in it, right? hehe…

Successfully exported my Blogger and Friendster blogs to WordPress!

Yipee! I successfully exported my Blogger and Friendster blogs to WordPress! =)

I’m glad I found the site with the tutorial on how to export/import blogs to WordPress – totally rocked! Now, for that Multiply site…

Oops…for some weird reason (I still don’t know why), the steps outlined in the tutorial on the site I gave above didn’t work. You don’t actually import the XML or WXR file as Movable Type and TypePad but as WordPress. Hope it works for you too!

By the way, this is my WordPress account.

Friendster, Blogspot, Multiply, Facebook, WordPress – Which blog should I maintain?!

I’ve been wanting to maintain only one blog because I wanted to keep everything in one place. I have blogs in every major blogsite! And it’s making my life more cluttered and messy. I have Blogspot for my “serious”-kuno blogs, Multiply for “super-personal” stuff – and I keep my posts private there so nobody every gets to read them (toink???), Facebook Notes for reflection posts, Friendster for just-anything posts, and WordPress because I wanted to migrate to that site and be able to tweak it more.

Sigh.

I think I’m choosing Friendster. And when I have time, I’ll try to study how to tweak my WordPress account and if I can import all my posts from the other sites. =)

Blogging Again…

It’s a fine Saturday morning and I’m writing a new blog post while waiting for the washing machine to finish cleaning my clothes.

It’s been a while. I haven’t been blogging for quite some time now. One of the major reasons for this is the fact that I no longer visit Friendster as often as I have before. I’m more into Facebook, and once I’m there, I always lose track of time – from reading my friends’ status to visiting each of their profiles and viewing their pics to get a glimpse of what they’re up to.

Well anyway, I’m glad that I’m blogging again. I missed this. Blogging allows me to keep track of what’s happening in my life. It allows me to reflect and see the past from another perspective and plan my future. Oops. Time to get my clothes from the machine. =)
